March 2016 - current // BINDI HOWARTH / Melbourne / Freelance Print and Textile designer
- Working as a freelance Print designer for Australian-based fashion labels.
- Clients include Romance Was Born, Viktoria and Woods, LIFEwithBIRD, Acler, Neuw denim, Limb, Megan Park,
Bul and Arnsdorf
Responsibilities include:
- Research, trend forecasting and developing moodboards
- Exploring new techniques to create prints through drawing, painting, collaging, photographing and digitally
in photoshop and illustrator
- Creating print repeats and pantone matching colours
- Creating print-ready files for both digital printing and screen printing
- Liaising with printers and factories, creating strike-offs and sampling achieve the best quality outcome
- Designing and creating files for fabric developments such as appliqué, devore, beading and machine embroidery
- Always ensuring that the print/fabric development whole-heartedly speaks the essence of the brand I am working
with (everyone is different!)

September 2016 // LONGINA PHILLIPS / Sydney / Freelance Print designer
- Working on designs for the LPD Print collection, which is sold locally and internationally
- Designing from moodboards and trend forecasts to suit the current market

Sept 2013 - July 2015 // PETER PILOTTO / London / Print Designer and Assistant to the Head of Textiles
- Work closely with Peter and the Head of Print & Textiles in initial key steps of design development,
particularly exploring fresh, alternative approaches to creating digital prints
- Design and create technical Jacquard, Lace and knitwear artworks, and produce tech pages for suppliers
- Engineer and place prints on complex garments in sampling, and create minimal consumption layouts for
production prints and jacquards
- Manage all ‘master’ sampling prints and boards; designing, creating colourways and refining prints for use
- Confidently and efficiently use Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign to create all artworks

Dec 2012 - Sept 2013 // BINDI HOWARTH / Copenhagen / Freelance Print Designer
- Researched and developed print concepts for Danish fashion designer Stine Goya’s SS14 collection
- Assisted in the lead up to, and back stage at Copenhagen Fashion Week A/W13 for Designer’s Remix & Freya Delsjø
- Used danish architecture, fashion, and culture to develop my own body of work, and evolve my design style

Jan - Dec 2012 // 3.1 PHILLIP LIM / New York / Print & Embroidery Designer (Full-time Freelance)
- Produced and contributed to all creative Print & Embroidery designs featured in 3.1 Phillip Lim ‘12 & ‘13 collections
- Worked directly with Phillip Lim, Head of Print and Embroidery, and the design team and accessories team
- Researched and sourced inspiration, materials, and specific techniques for development
- Liaised with factories, created artwork pages and sample packs, assessed samples, and gave feedback to vendors
- Proactively managed and directed interns on a daily basis in the Print and Embroidery department
- Commenced as Print & Embroidery design intern in Jan 2012 before moving into freelance in March 2012

May - Oct 2012 // SOLUDOS / New York / Print & Embroidery Designer for Espadrille shoes (Part-time Freelance)
- Freely researched for initial ideas and developed creative direction for each collection
- Developed color palettes and mood-boards for print and embroidery designs
- Considerately designed within the confinements of a shoe and for Soludos’ key consumers
- Designed innovative intricate embroidery and lace patterns for shoes
- Created all content to send directly to factories for sample yardage and production

Sept 2011 - March 2012 // EIGHTEENTH / New York / Fashion Intern
- Winner of an ‘Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation 2012’ Award
- Attended industry appointments to source and select fabrics for seasonal garments
- Styling and creative direction for the 2011 look-book photoshoot and online store shots
